This is a solar and battery pack - designed for short haul journeys, most suitable for the majority of temperature-controlled journeys in the UK, giving around 2-20 hrs running. Real-life trials have shown when cycling on sentry mode a 40kWh pack has achieved over 20hrs running at deep freeze set point.
GreenChill Solar-Electric System consists of :
- Our high output patented solar technology, an array of over 4.5kWh on a 13m trailer continuously feeding power into the battery bank, generating approx. 5000kWh p.a. (Enough power to recharge a 40kWh pack 125 times).
- The solar array is not designed to run the fridge but rather to supplement the batteries during summer months when the fridge is working it’s hardest.
- A lightweight lithium battery pack in modules of 10kWh, expandable up to 60kWh.
- Intelligent Logic Control Unit – the power management hub, producing power identical to standby power to the fridge, when the vehicle is on the road.
This system is fitted solely to the trailer with the Logic Control Hub and battery pack situated on an H-frame underneath the chassis and the run-time of the fridge is governed by the size of the battery pack fitted.
Charging
The GreenChill system requires charging via 3-phase mains electricity as required. This can often simply be done when the vehicle is on a loading bay. Charging cables can be supplied. These come in standard lengths of 3m, 10m or 20m.
