RIS GreenChill systems are renewable energy systems which bolt onto a van, truck or trailer to run the refrigeration unit via its electric motor on sustainable and renewable power.
Two types of systems
At RIS GreenChill we understand that our customers have varied needs. Hauliers transporting temperature-controlled goods can require from ambient to -25, have short journeys of a couple of hours OR international journeys requiring many hours on the road, have one door opening OR many door openings per trip.
The GreenChill systems can cater for all these differing needs. We do this by manufacturing two types of system.
This is a solar and battery pack - designed for short haul journeys, most suitable for the majority of temperature-controlled journeys in the UK, giving around 2-20 hrs running. Real-life trials have shown when cycling on sentry mode a 40kWh pack has achieved over 20hrs running at deep freeze set point.
GreenChill Solar-Electric System consists of :
This system is fitted solely to the trailer with the Logic Control Hub and battery pack situated on an H-frame underneath the chassis and the run-time of the fridge is governed by the size of the battery pack fitted.
Charging
The GreenChill system requires charging via 3-phase mains electricity as required. This can often simply be done when the vehicle is on a loading bay. Charging cables can be supplied. These come in standard lengths of 3m, 10m or 20m.
This is comprised of solar panels, a small battery pack and a kinetic recovery system. Designed for long-haul chilled logistics and suitable for international runs.
The unique GreenChill Solar-Kinetic System consists of:
The sophisticated electronics on the system ensure that only the vehicle’s free kinetic energy is taken, meaning it does not have any adverse effect on fuel consumption of the vehicle.
It is usual for the solar-kinetic system to produce more power than the fridge consumes, so keeping the batteries 100% full.
RIS GreenChill will first discuss with the customer in-depth their particular situation, taking into account their typical trailer usage, journeys and other variables.
We would then advise on the type and size of system to suit.
